Tired of the Olympic Games

Sometimes we need to waste our time with unimportant things. The Football Eurocup is an example. Problems appear when we consider that these unimportant things are indeed something worthy. Like the crowd in Spain celebrating the Eurocup victory as if it was the non plus ultra of their lifes. Another example are the Olympic Games. A friend of mine in the US told me yesterday: "aren't you very excited? You will be covering an historical event". ¿Historical event? My Godness! The Beijing 2008 Olympic Games will be a propaganda show and an occasion for a few athletes to show how far we can go phisically, but that's all!

I'm already tired of the Olympic Games! Every minute in life of an urban chinese is marked by the communist party olympic propaganda. The International Olympic Committee
complained recently (they complained veeery softly; chinese officials are veeery sensitive) because the chinese government was using the torch relay to play politics. Well, do you want a nice cockatil of politics and Olympic Games? Then, please check this link from the Official Website of the Beijing Olympic Games. It is about a Communt Party Anniversary celebration. 1.500 new members took the Party Oaths in Beijing, but do you know where? At the Olympic Green, in front of the Olympic Stadium.

Every step we make is severely checked by the Public Security Bureau. From now until the end of the year, every person that visits the country should have an olympic ticket or an invitation letter from a local friend or a company to visit the country! Police came three times to my apartment to check my visa! I'm sorry but I don't give a shit for these Olympic Games.
